Texas Walnut is not a commercially available wood. It is only found by visiting small specialized lumber yards and millers that work with fallen trees or special trees that have to be removed. The tree produces “juglans” or the world’s smallest walnut. The wood is dark brown and fairly heavy. I personally go to the yards and hand pick the walnut to make certain it has a tight grain and no worm holes or defects for each walnut piece I make for you. I make certain it is cured thoroughly before milling it in my shop for your book stand. This wood suits your Bible Stand perfectly. The formal and classic look of rich walnut will compliment and add the perfect look in a classic setting. Choose either an open pore version (as pictured here), that allows the grain to not only be seen, but also felt; or the standard filled version, where the depth of the grain shows through a glass smooth finish. The finish is always at least 12 steps.
